I've opened this Blog with the idea to support the pilgrimage from Lourdes to Fatima on foot. After opening the Blog, I thought it could be a good medium for sharing my life and my thoughts.

July 31

After writing my blog about the previous day’s experiences I stop in at the information office where I share much laughter with the cute office girl about this story. The news has travelled before me though as we are all one big family.
On the way out from Burgos, it is nearly 1pm, so I stop in at church only briefly as time is slipping away from me today.
A guide tells me there are two towns I will pass through on the way today, with the first being at 8.5 kms. After then walking 12 kms in the scorching sun I realise that I might have been misled a little. The the sun is very strong today and it is sapping my energy.
On average most pilgrims sleep around 9 hours a night. I am sleeping an average of 5 to 6 hours. Yet, I am getting energy from somewhere and for this I thank all the wonderful emails I am receiving from everyone. They are filling me with such power and incredible energy on this pilgrimage. It’s funny sometimes I feels so empowered I even try to run with the pack sometimes and despite my fatigue I have energy to spare. It makes me laugh when I get this feeling to keep up with everyone else on the road, running along with my 14 kilos on my back. Today I walked along with the others for only a short time before I tired and I fell behind. But I jumped for joy today for sure. The joy of being on the road, the enjoyment of every moment of everyday, every step I take both light and dark, all the amazing people that I meet and of course the experience of listening to Holy Mass everyday fills me with so much joy.
Most definitely today I feel ‘the way’ so strong inside of me. I’m happy and my legs carry me to Tardajos.
In Tardajos I meet a lovely lady who graciously guides me to the pilgrim hotel. There Maripaz the hospitalera greets me with a big hug. Then I meet all the other volunteers Arres, Logrono, Estela, Najera. All these volunteers have a beautiful energy about them. I ponder what it is that makes them special and I pin it down to the fact they they all convey a very deep love.
Maripaz is a very nice woman. It is her first day today, ands he has come with her elderly father. She is very enthusiastic and is so happy to be sharing the experience with her father. It moves me to see a daughter who attends so lovingly to her father.
She shares some fruit with me which I so gladly accept.
After showering and cleaning the dusty road off me, I head straight to church in the centre of town to meditate for a while.
Afterwards I head to the town square and discover there is a party going on. I take some photos then decide to deal with my hunger and exhaustion. So I head to a little bar across the street, and enjoy some fish and some wine. I write a little also but it is noisy and I am finding it hard to focus as I am also so very tired.
It is 11 pm and most definitely my bed is now calling me friends.
A big hello and a hug to everyone.
